Northern Company are a five-piece Folk group that formed in 2015 and are the 2016 winners of the Celtic Connections Danny Kyle Award. Combining Folk, Bluegrass, Classical and Jazz influences, they bring a fresh feel to contemporary and traditional songs and tunes from the British Isles and beyond, on melodeon, fiddle, guitar, piano and bodhran. They formed in 2015 with a line-up that comes from the north of England and the Scottish Borders, including local grown talents Scott Turnbull and Eryn Rae.

Tom McConville and Andy Watt. Tom was BBC Folk Musician of The Year in 2012 and is a brilliant fiddler and great singer. The hornpipes of James Hill were amongst his first influences and 50 years on, Tom is widely acknowledged as the leading authority on Hill’s music. Tom is accompanied tonight by guitarist Andy Watt, one of the star pupils of guitar maestro Chris Newman. Entertainment, virtuoso playing great rapport with an audience and sheer enjoyment are all in plentiful supply.
