A weekend of traditional music concerts, sessions, workshops and open mics in various localities around Kelso Town.

Friday 1st – The opening concert is held in the Old Parish Kirk, The Knowes, Kelso and features the fabulous Breabach. Doors open at 7 pm and the concert starts at 7.30. were voted ‘Folk Band of the Year’ and ‘Album of Year’ at the 2016 Scots Trad Music Awards and nominated for ‘Best Group’ at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards this year. What better way to kick start the weekend with one of the UK’s most dynamic and exciting bands. Breabach unite the talents of Calum MacCrimmon (pipes / whistles /bouzouki / vocals), Ewan Robertson (guitar/ vocals), James Mackenzie (pipes / flute /whistles), Megan Henderson (fiddle /vocals / stepdance) and James Lindsay (double bass). Be prepared for an unforgettable evening of Scottish traditional music with a modern twist.

Kicking off the evening we have Jenny Biddle. Hailing from Melbourne but now based in Scotland, Jenny plays a feisty guitar, gets that blues harmonica squawking, soothes your soul with her haunting poignant lyrics, ingenious cover versions, empathetic original songs, and endearing personality. With five albums under her belt and a sixth on its way, this engaging songstress is a powerhouse of talent.
