The Scottish CycleFest on May 6, 2018, in the market town of Kelso, is an event not to miss for cyclists of all ages and abilities. CycleFest is more than just a bike ride, but a great family fun day out.
Scottish CycleFest is accredited by British Cycling and supported by Raleigh and Maxxis. Kelso, in the heart of the Scottish Borders is the perfect place to host the event, surrounded by big open spaces, rolling hills, and magnificent rivers, it’s been at the heart of Scottish cycling for many years.
There were three rides in the CycleFest, a 12 km family route which can be completed on all types of bicycle including electric assisted, recumbent, road bikes and mountain bikes. The family route is ideal for younger riders and those looking for something less challenging.
“We’re really sorry but due to circumstances that are out of our control, we can’t go ahead with the Kelso Family Ride – but! We’ve arranged even more activities for you and all the family to enjoy, with our compliments.
As well as the cycle village, there will be a Family Cycle Track which is a custom made wooden track that has been designed to be enjoyed by riders of all ages and skill levels. The track includes rollers and corners in a circuit that is perfect to learn bike skills and is highly addictive!
So come along for a great free day out, win a medal for completing the track, practice your cycling skills and try out different bikes.
We looking forward to seeing you there and don’t forget there will also be other activities to enjoy including competitions, football shoot out, coconut shy, bouncy castles, bungee run, food stands, cycling village and much more”
