Flowers By McKenzie

James McKenzie, the owner of Flowers by McKenzie, has a rich background rooted in the Borders region. Born and raised there, he moved from Duns to Kelso in 2005. In 2009, he relocated to Edinburgh to study floristry under Thomas Maxwell and then Telford College. After gaining extensive experience in the floral industry, James opened Flowers by McKenzie in July 2020, demonstrating resilience and dedication by starting his business during the pandemic.

James is known for his keen eye for colour and his creative skills in floral arrangement, which bring joy to his customers. His extensive wedding planning experience and natural colour sense allow him to help couples design their ideal wedding flowers. Additionally, James handles funeral inquiries with great sensitivity, ensuring that each arrangement is chosen with the utmost care to honor loved ones in their final farewell.

Beyond his floristry talents, James is also musically inclined, playing the piano and pipe organ, and singing on a semi-professional basis. His artistic talents and compassionate nature shine through in both his floral and musical endeavors.
