Description

Kelso Chamber of Trade started in 1935 for the purposes of promoting the successful development of Kelso and District – its business, its people and its environment.
Visit Kelso, run by volunteers, has superseded Kelso Chamber Trade and is open to commercial businesses, tourist attractions, clubs and organisations, community groups, event organisers and other persons connected with trading and living in Kelso and the surrounding area.
Visit Kelso was formed in June 2015 as the marketing arm of Kelso Chamber of Trade. Our aim is to actively promote Kelso and the surrounding area to locals and visitors alike.
Until 2018 we were under the umbrella of Kelso Chamber of Trade, with the exception of the the Chamber of Trade Chair attending the Visit Kelso committee meetings, we were more or less self sufficient in driving our cause.
As Visit Kelso we have been successful in securing funding from various sources to help promote the town and district, producing pop up banners, designing and printing leaflets which highlight the town’s events, developing and enhancing our website, running many promotional campaigns including our Wellbeing Warrior campaign where the aim is to put Kelso on the map as the Wellbeing capital of Scotland.
In 2018 the Kelso Chamber of Trade decided to disband. Due to the amount of time and effort Visit Kelso had already invested in promoting our town and building our membership we decided to step out from the shadow and carry on publicising the town and district as our own constituted body.

By working together we look forward to the exciting challenge of promoting the town and district. Helping to make Kelso the number one Borders Town!
