Birgham Circuit with Tweed side loop

Starting at Birgham Cemetary, follow the path towards the river.

When you reach the river turn right to follow the river bank, until you reach a green gate, go through this
gate and immediately there is a path on your right that takes you back on yourself through woodland.

Once through the small gate a rough track takes you up through woodland

Emerging from the woods onto a farm track turn right and follow the track back into Birgham village.

At this point you can finish your walk.

Alternatively cross the road to the Memorial.

Take the road to the left of the memorial towards Eccles. Walking up the road you will come to a sign towards Birgham Wood turn right following the sign

Follow the track towards the wood until the track meets the road, turn right along the road. Until you get to Birgham Wood.

Here you can take a detour into the wood , but return back to the and carry on down the hill.

At the bottom of the road, it meets the main Kelso to Coldstream road.

Turn right back to Birgham.

Be aware this involves a short 5 minute walk along a busy main road without pavement. Please keep to right using the grass verge when possible.

You then walk through the village returning to your starting point
