Kelso Heritage Society

Kelso Heritage Society is a charity dedicated to promoting, protecting and enhancing to rich and diverse historic, cultural and environmental heritage of Kelso & District

The main  purposes of Kelso Heritage Society are:

• To promote awareness of local heritage.
• To seek ways to re-establish a museum or heritage facility in Kelso.
• To forge links with the local schools, community groups and youth organisations to promote education of local heritage.
• To liaise and co-operate with local, regional and national agencies to promote the heritage of Kelso and District.

The Society is currently working on developing community based projects including: planting and maintaining the Abbey Orchard, protecting historic features (such as updating the town trail) and producing promotional material.

Kelso Heritage Society contributes to locally organised events and exhibitions. In addition, the Society holds public lectures a year, typically one each month during the Autumn, Winter and Spring.   Lectures are usually on Monday evenings at the Kelso Rugby Club, and start at 7.30pm.

Membership is £15 (family membership £25). Lectures are free to members (non-members by donation). New members are always welcome.
