Kelso Pipe Band
Description
Kelso Pipe Band was formed in 1981 by Pipe Major Alan Veitch. They perform regularly at local events.
~ The Kelso Laddie’s Declaration night in April
~ Stob Stanes Ride-Out in June
~ Morebattle Ride-out in June
~ Border Union Show in July
~ Remembrance Sunday in November
The Band also support the town’s annual ‘Kelso Civic Week’ by leading the cavalcade of horses and riders back into town following the ride-outs throughout the week.
They also perform at
~ Procession for the Kirkin’ of the Kelso Laddie on Sunday evening
~ Drummers only, supporting return of the cavalcade for the Whipman’s Ride on Monday evening
~ the Colour Bussing ceremony on Wednesday evening
~ the Laser Light Procession (formerly Torchlight) on the Wednesday night,
~ at The Grand Ball on Thursday night,
~ Leading the Cavalcade out on the Yetholm Ride on Saturday morning
~ at Yetholm on the Saturday, for the Reel, before The Laddie and his supporters head back to Kelso
~ and in the Fancy Dress Parade around Kelso at night.
